Russell Wilson Ruled Out, Brett Rypien To Start
2 years agoDenver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that quarterback Russell Wilson (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals. Backup Brett Rypien will make his second start of the season in Wilson's absence. Denver is prioritizing Wilson's safety with the team already eliminated from playoff contention. The next chance Wilson will get to suit up will be in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas Day. Rypien will be making just his third career start after going 4-for-8 for 16 yards with a touchdown and interception in the fourth quarter in last week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Cardinals are a solid matchup for QBs, but Rypien will be without receivers Courtland Sutton (hamstring) and Kendall Hinton (hamstring), making him a desperation low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
