Brandin Cooks Goes Through Drills Thursday
2 years agoHouston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks (calf) is going through some drills at practice on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session. Cooks has missed the last two games with a calf injury, but the fact that he's back on the field on Thursday gives him a shot at returning this weekend to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Fellow wideout Nico Collins (foot) hasn't practiced this week and is trending toward missing his second straight game. So even if Cooks is active on Sunday, Chris Moore, who caught a career-high 10 passes for 124 yards in last week's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, should have an expanded role in Houston's passing attack in a game in which they'll surely have to air it out. Cooks has been a disappointment in his third year with the team, catching 44 of his 71 targets for 520 yards and only one touchdown in 10 games.
