Braves, Dansby Swanson Have Work To Do
2 years agoThe Atlanta Braves made an opening offer during the season to star shortstop Dansby Swanson, and sources suggested it was in the $100 million ballpark. Swanson, who is a Georgia product, is believed to want to stay in Atlanta, but it sounds like the two sides have plenty of work to do to land a long-term contract extension. Swanson will become a free agent after the World Series, and there will be plenty of suitors for his services. The 28-year-old first-time All-Star in 2022 continues to get better on both offense and defense. In his seventh MLB season this year, he slashed .277/.329/.447 with 25 home runs, 96 RBI, 99 runs scored and a career-high 18 stolen bases over 162 games played. Swanson has become one of the best all-around shortstops in real life and fantasy.
