2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-hander Noah Syndergaard will start Game 5 of the World Series against the Houston Astros on Thursday, regardless of what happens in Game 4 on Wednesday. Syndergaard was originally scheduled to start Game 3 on Monday, but the Phillies went with left-hander Ranger Suarez instead when the game was postponed and pushed back to Tuesday. Thor will be facing off against right-hander Justin Verlander on Thursday, potentially with a chance to win the series for the Phils. Syndergaard hasn't pitched yet in the World Series and made just one start in the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves, allowing a run while striking out three in only three innings.
