Sammy Watkins Held To One Reception Against Former Team
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Sammy Watkins caught his lone target and gained three yards during the team's 27-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. Coming into the game as the No. 1 wide receiver on the depth chart, the 29-year-old failed to get open for quarterback Aaron Rodgers against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Fantasy managers were expecting little from Watkins against a tough Buffalo secondary, but many assumed he would garner more than one target. Allen Lazard (shoulder) has a chance to return next week, and if he does, Watkins should be considered nothing more than a WR4/5, even in a plus matchup against a weak Detroit Lions secondary. He can safely be dropped to the waiver wire in favor of a more appealing option.
