Buccaneers Aren't Rushing Julio Jones Back
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Julio Jones (knee) is reportedly nursing a torn PCL in his knee and missed the Week 5 win over his former team, the Atlanta Falcons. The 33-year-old practiced on a limited basis last week, but he's now missed three of the last five games and has just four catches so far in 2022. General manager Jason Licht said the team is "playing the long game" with Jones, with the hope he'll be able to play later in the year. "We want him fully healthy... we think we got enough guys right now to weather the storm," head coach Todd Bowles said. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin teamed for 10 catches and 142 yards, while Scotty Miller had a season-high four catches for 35 yards. With Jones not being rushed back, Russell Gage should also have an expanded role in the passing game moving forward.
