2 years agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (illness) will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Right-hander Kyle Wright will get the nod in Game 2 on Wednesday in Atlanta. Fried left his final start of the season early with an illness, but he's completely fine now and will kick things off in the NLDS. The 28-year-old southpaw shouldn't face any restrictions on Tuesday against Philadelphia. Fried went 14-7 this year with a 2.48 ERA (2.70 FIP), a 1.01 WHIP, 170 strikeouts and 32 walks in 185 1/3 innings over 30 starts. In four starts against the Phillies, he went 0-1 and allowed eight earned runs on 23 hits while walking six and striking out 25 in 23 innings pitched.
