Steelers Officially Name Kenny Pickett The Starter
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin officially named rookie first-round quarterback Kenny Pickett the team's starter heading into their Week 5 matchup with the Buffalo Bills. It was announced on Monday that the Steelers were expected to move forward with Pickett as the starter after Mitch Trubisky was benched at halftime of the Week 4 loss to the New York Jets. Pickett went 10-for-13 passing for 120 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions, but he also carried the ball six times for 15 yards and two scores on the ground. The 24-year-old should be added in all superflex leagues if he's available, but he'll be a low-end QB2 in his first professional start this weekend against a strong Bills defense on the road.
