Jesse Winker Remains Out Wednesday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jesse Winker (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers. It will be his second straight game starting on the bench after he suffered a left wrist bruise from being hit by a pitch in Sunday's game. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger remains day-to-day for now. It's been a tough year for Winker in his first season in Seattle, as he's hitting just .219/.343/.340 with 13 home runs, 50 RBI and 48 runs scored in 133 games after hitting a career-high 24 homers in his final season in Cincinnati in 2021. Sam Haggerty is in left field and is hitting sixth in the batting order on Wednesday against Rangers left-hander Martin Perez. In 69 plate appearances against lefties in 2022, Haggerty has gone 23-for-60 (.383) with four of his five home runs on the season.
