Cole Beasley Elevated To Active Roster
2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers elevated wide receiver Cole Beasley from the practice squad to their active roster on Saturday ahead of the Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Bucs are decimated by injuries at the receiver position, and No. 1 receiver Mike Evans is also suspended for this weekend's game, so Beasley could actually play a limited role against Green Bay after just signing to the practice squad this week. If Julio Jones (knee), who is listed as questionable, cannot play, the Bucs will likely have Russell Gage, Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller as their top three wideouts for quarterback Tom Brady this weekend. The 33-year-old Beasley will give Tampa some depth for the time being, but he's not worth a waiver-wire pickup at this time.
