Chris Sale Hits 96 MPH On Monday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (ribs) threw a live batting practice session on Monday. According to Red Sox beat writer Chris Cotillo, the team was encouraged by his performance. Cotillo reports that Sale hit 96 mph on his fastball during the session. Sale is in the midst of recovering from a stress reaction in his right rib cage. He could be sent out on a rehab assignment in the next week or so. The 33-year-old southpaw has yet to make his 2022 debut. Over nine starts last year, he went 5-1 with a 3.16 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP and a 28.4% strikeout rate.
