Yadier Molina Sitting Again Friday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. Molina will actually be out for the third straight game, and his slash line on the season is now down to .226/.238/.315 with two home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base in 124 at-bats. The future Hall of Famer appears to be finally running out of gas in what is expected to be his final MLB season. The 39-year-old backstop is batting .167 (6-for-36) with no homers, two RBI and seven strikeouts in nine games since May 21. Andrew Knizner, who has been sharing catching duties pretty evenly with Molina, is batting ninth against Reds right-hander Luis Castillo on Friday.
