Byron Buxton Out Against Blue Jays
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Twins continue to rest Buxton pretty regularly in order to keep the oft-injured outfielder healthy for the long haul. Buxton is hitting .192 (9-for-47) with one home run and 13 strikeouts in his last two weeks and is batting .216 on the season with a .295 on-base percentage, but he also has 12 home runs, 23 RBI and 27 runs scored. Fantasy managers would like more than just one stolen base as well, but at this point, they should just be happy that he's not on the injured list. The 28-year-old has looked better over the last week, so hopefully he's heating up as we approach the summer. Gilberto Celestino is in center field and is batting seventh against Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman on Sunday.
