Cubs Put Seiya Suzuki On Injured List
3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs officially placed outfielder Seiya Suzuki (finger) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a sprained left ring finger and recalled left-hander Brandon Hughes from Triple-A in a corresponding move. The Cubs also designated right-hander Robert Gsellman for assignment. Suzuki's IL move is retroactive to May 27. He hasn't played since injuring his finger on May 26. The Japanese outfielder should be stashed in most fantasy leagues after he put up a .245/.344/.432 slash line with a 119 OPS+, although he's had only a .545 OPS in his last 91 plate appearances. Fantasy managers will hope that he won't miss more than the minimum of 10 days on the IL. Clint Frazier and rookie Nelson Velazquez should see the majority of playing time in right field until Suzuki is back.
