BALLER MOVE: Buy Matt Olson
ANALYSIS: It seems like Matt Olson’s sluggish spring training is dragging into the regular season. After hitting .159 (7-for-44) with a single home run over 19 Grapefruit League games, Olson did launch three homers across his first eight regular-season contests. He is now slashing a dismal .159/.293/.216 with four extra-base hits and eight RBI during his current 25-game homer-less drought.
It comes on the heels of Olson’s MLB-leading 54-homer, 139-RBI campaign a year ago, opening up a clear buy-low window for fantasy purposes.

Despite the cold spell, the 30-year-old two-time All-Star is still drawing plenty of walks (12.6% BB%) and ranks in Statcast’s 99th percentile with a scalding 94.8 mph average exit velocity as well as a 57.6% hard-hit rate. That’s not to mention his stark contrasts in BA (.198) and xBA (.256), SLG (.355) and xSLG (.455), plus wOBA (.300) and xwOBA (.363).
If you're not into expected stats, then this post ain't for you.

Following Wednesday's series finale versus the Boston Red Sox, his buy-low window could start to close during a three-game weekend set against the division-rival New York Mets at Citi Field. In seven games against the Mets on the road since 2023, Olson is hitting a sizzling .346 (9-for-26) with four long balls, nine RBI, 11 runs scored, and six walks. Based on Statcast's metrics, Olson is neck-and-neck with Yordan Alvarez as fantasy's most obvious buy-low candidates among the game's preeminent sluggers.
